For every car that ever there was,
Will gather there so early because,
Today's a day that's going to be no picnic!

Picnic time for motor cars - not,
The little motor cars aren't having a lovely time today,
    Watch them, catch them unawares,
And see them queuing on their holiday.

    See them gaily hang about,
They love to boil-up, swear and shout,
And have a boot-full of woes and cares.
At six o'clock their sweaty drivers,
    Will take them home instead.
Because they're tired little motor cars.

I blame the Council for having a tide on Sunday in August when they know it would be busy.

    Definitely the Politburo council’s fault.
They should’ve ripped out the pinewoods and levelled and concreted over those pesky sand dunes years ago. Imagine all those lovely car parking spaces that could’ve been created for the idol and lazy slobs that can’t be arsed walking anywhere.

Don’t they usually wait for the most busiest tourist times of the year to close the pier .

There’s no need to they should use the sands car park and take away the yellow lines outside pontins or better still there is an UNUSED path that runs alongside the coast rd thats just sat there gathering weeds. People can still walk onto the beach and pontins are missing a trick as they could charge for parking on their site and people would also use their bars and facilities .
Anyway people have been doing well not biting on these posts lately that’s it for me .

Just saying that there’s plenty of places to park if you want to walk onto the beach and that looking at the other threads people are learning not to bite people are learning that they soon die if nobody bites. I didn’ take the bait I just fired at an easy target and shot some fish in a barrel that usually get caught by their own mouth anyway .
And yea there’s plenty of parking even though I would be surprised if the sea came in as far as the end of the beach car park and can only imagine all those tenners that the council are loosing per car that pontins could take by allowing them to park in there all it would take is a big sign saying pontins beach car park ( no swimsuits in the bar or restaurant and no bicycles ) and an arrow pointing in pontins entrance. There’s a couple of hundred quid sailing past pontins in that picture alone like sand flowing through their fingers .

Both Southport and Ainsdale Beach are lethal in this extremely hot weather. There are miles of sand, glittering silicon and quartz reflected in the sun light, and burning people's skin raw in an hour. If people do manage to get to the water - the water also intensifies the rays of the sunlight. There is no shade nor shelter, even under a beach umbrella - people are not 100% protected.

Cats will head for shade and sleep. Dogs are dragged out into town to walk on scorching hot pavements, or on to hot beaches - but under natural conditions they too, would sleep in the shade.

Wrong, nothing to do with the high tide as the tide at its height did not reach the boundary of the car park. It was well short by 10 metres..

I was there early this morning on a fishing trip.

The capacity is reduced by 25% not to 25% due to issues with drifting sand causing cars to get stuck, so less cars can be fitted into the space provided.

To make space the drifting sand will need to be removed and that ain't going to happen with this council.
