Police are appealing for witnesses and issuing a warning to the public following a bogus workmen incident in Tarleton earlier this week.

An 85-year old pensioner was at his home on Monday when two men called offering to carry out work on his roof.

The victim was then driven to Preston city centre in order for him to access £950 from his bank account, via the cash machine.

The men were in a white Citroen Dispatch Van (with ladders on the roof) similar to the one pictured.

The public can also assist us in tackling these crimes by remaining vigilant for suspicious activity around the homes of family, friends and neighbours and reporting any concerns to the police.

Everyone knows the type responsible for these types selfish, nasty crimes. There has been no reports of a new influx - so they must be in the locality - keep vigilant, should not be difficult as there are far fewer people around at present.

It seems that’s nothing is sacred anymore, and there are no depths to which the scum in our Society won’t sink to. If caught, theses lowlifes should face some good old fashioned punishments, like flogging and limb amputation.
