Car drivers have laws to abide by. The
majority do whilst some pillocks get
caught and find .( Rightly so)
When was the last time a cyclist got done
for cycling on the pavement?
Tune in next week when we start on
the disabled carts and drinking whilst
in use .

Roads are paid for from general taxation, which covers all tax elements from income tax and vat. Budgets aren’t fed from a specific tax-take. I pay all those elements of tax so I am paying to use the roads just as much as you are. I also have insurance on cycles. Personally I wouldn’t cycle on the main carriageway of the bypass or the coast road for my own safety and to not annoy drivers, but some very rarely do, and they are entitled to. It doesn’t matter how much you disagree. I do however cycle on country lanes which have a higher speed limit that the coast road, and the same speed limit as the bypass, cars pass me generally very well, but a lot don’t. A lot maintain the same 60mph as they pass, and don’t even fully cross to the other side of the road, instead straddling the white line......have you any idea how frightening that is? Try standing at the side of the bypass on the grass verge and feel what it’s like to be passed at such a speed.... I bet you’ll soon understand.
Just on the point of being delayed, would you complain on here if you were delayed by a milk float, hearse, tractor, or oversized vehicle? Probably not.
Please bear in mind that in 20mph roads, it is drivers that are holding cyclists up (well it would be if the 20 was honoured), as speed limits only apply to motorised vehicles....yet we don’t complain that you’re taking up the whole road (it’s a lane), with only one occupied seat of five, polluting the environment as you drive to chippy 200 yards from your house......
Finally, regarding ‘peleton louts’, by riding in a group they are making your overtake easy and quicker......consider 6 cyclists in a line, against 6 riding two abreast (3x2), you’d pass the peleton group in half the time of the single file group. What you’re actually saying is that you want to dangerously squeeze past the single file riders, but don’t feel there is room to do that with the peleton....well the other side of the white line is always available when it’s safe for you to pass a lone cyclist, or a peleton - maybe you should consider your own abilities!
I’m done. I’ve said my peace and my no longer gonna waste my time trying to educate you, you’re obvuiosly selfishly blinkered.....ME ME ME ME.....

The biggest problem cyclists around the Southport area encounter is the self appointed expert namely Pnp who has taken it upon himself to alienate motorists by posting absolute sh*te blaming EVERY motorist for the actions of the few. Get rid of that bull*hit merchant and you may stand a chance.

Considering the time on Friday Lawed143 posted and, the rambling nature of the diatribe, indicates to me the following - an early dart along with being well into the second bottle of red.
Interestingly enough, when delving deeper into the road tax/road fund licence/excise duty issue, some posters are quite right - roads are 'paid' for using general taxation.
Road/car tax goes to pay for other road associated infrastructure work such as bridges, road widening and ......................cycle paths /lanes.

Every road will be a motorway eventually.
That'll be nice.
