Brother and Sister, Eden and Ebony Barbe have just finished their run of performances in the Southport ‘Cinderella’ Pantomime.

We spoke to Eden and Ebony Barbe and asked how they got to be in the professional Pantomime.

Big Brother Eden, 12 ,who is known nationally for his superb ballroom and Latin dancing said:

“We were actually selected from the LHK Youth theatre company.”
Both talented siblings are part of the prestigious theatre group based in Liverpool, ‘LHK Youth Theatre’, which they also had to audition for.
Talking about being on stage in the pantomime, Eden told Friends of Southport:

“I just like it when the crowd cheers, and I like the energetic dancing, learning the routines and I feel proud to be in it!”

Talking about how they both felt mingling with such TV stars, Eden said:

“Claire Sweeney was really nice and so lovely with all of the kids”

“This was my 4th Southport Professional Pantomime!” Said Eden,”The first one that has been held at the Atkinson though of course .” (The main Southport theatre is currently undergoing refurbishment.)

The pair were selected as “juvenile dancers”. Ebony, 10, is also a talented dancer and actress, she is due to appear in Matilda the Musical soon and has also been selected as ‘Miss little Teen Merseyside’ just this week!

There were 35 shows in total and they had to share / alternate with some other children as it’s quite a gruelling schedule, especially over Christmas.

The Southport siblings are going to be in Grease the musical next in Liverpool.!

“I’m also going to try and be in the pantomime again next year if I’m not too tall for the Childrens parts !” said Eden, who will be 13 this year.

Friends of Southport congratulate both siblings for letting their talents shine and being involved and committed , helping to provide much needed entertainment in the town. We know they also kindly voluntarily entertained at some local nursing homes before Xmas, and cheered up the residents.
