Did it ever occur to you, that all this new investment is happening because we're becoming greener and more cycle-friendly - and not in spite of it? Both the recent investment in bike infra and the new business investments are happening in parallel, which imo is a curious coincidence to say the least!

Whatever guise you adopt, it's the same utter drivel from our resident cycling (or is it plural?) fanatic.
How exactly does a few cycle lanes kill a town.? Maybe the town is dying due to all the online shopping you do. Do you buy local? Do you actually spend any money in town.? If you buy anything online that you can also get locally, then you’re a hypocrite and need to take a long look in the mirror.
Driving everywhere cannot go on indefinitely - you know that. You know there has to be an alternative on offer. This is the way forward, and it will be staying (I can guarantee you that). So weep into your cuppa and drink those salty tears….

Just take a good look at the vast array of cars in this video from the 70's. Southport a bustling little town full of shoppers, day trippers, holidaymakers. No sign of d*ckheads wanting to glue themselves to the tarmac but thanks to your lot it's a ghost town full of charity shops and empty cycle lanes......a shadow of it's former self!

Do you really believe that.? Do you really think that a few cycle lanes only recently installed have been the cause of the demise of the high street.? So what about all the demise before the cycle lanes.? What about when chapel
Street was pedestrianised years ago? That’s a bustling location with no cars at all, and there are new developments imminent. You need to take a proper look at what’s gone wrong and not just blame one thing. What’s wrong with you and your mates…?????

Michael Gilbert has nothing to say on topic, just the same old made up wannabe private eye thinking he knows it all, he’s done some investigation apparently, put 2 and 2 together and thinks he’s Columbo now. Difference is, Columbo did actually get it right, whereas Michael here has got it all wrong.! Ha ha

Like 'lawed143' just said a couple of posts ago, do you really believe that? (rollseyes)

What I believe, is it's all about you (and your motorist buddies) not wanting anything done that encourages more people to get on a bike......Because you fear it might eventually lead to a 'London style' takeover of the roads by bikes, bikes which could get in your way!

I was in Liverpool City Centre this afternoon, parked in Lime Street Station. When I left I drove down Renshaw Street. Liverpool City council have had major road restructuring and included a segregated two-way cycle lane...

...and still some knob-head cyclist was riding on the pavement, right next to the cycle lane!!!

Sadly I wasn't able to take a picture, though if I were to look carefully I will have the footage on my dashcam!

It gets provided for them and they still won't use it. Weaving around the pedestrians on the pavement. Should be proescuted.

In other words, we don't need cycle infra, right?

Fyi, I've been sat behind cars waiting to emerge onto main roads. Cars that have mounted the pavement to get out, because the one in front was blocking them and in no hurry to turn right....Shall we do away roads then, because cars seem to be happy using the pavement too?

It's a failed argument right from the outset, mate. Install the right infra, give people time to adjust to it and presto - 'town' will become a second Amsterdam!

Looks nice down Renshaw St now. Might have to go and take a cycle at the weekend. Look at you in your car doing 0 mph…:-)
Yeah the cyclist shouldn’t be on the pavement. I’m guessing the cycle lanes are actually open (not been down there for a few months).? Should have taken the train maybe…

Plenty of videos on YouTube showing drivers Using the pavement instead of the expensive roads that have been provided for them…..:-/

Yes look at me in my car doing 0 mph, that was because I was waiting for the lights to change green. I stopped moving at 13:39:38 and started moving again at 13:40:04 was waiting a total of 26 seconds until I moved. Hardly a traffic jam.
