Residents in Southport will be able to go behind the scenes at their local fire station this weekend as part of a special blue light fun day.

Southport Community Fire & Ambulance Station will open its doors to the public on Saturday 11th August for its annual ‘Community Blue Light Open Day’.

Taking place at the Manchester Road station between 11am and 4pm, the free-to-enter event will give visitors the chance to meet members of the blue light services that protect the community of Southport.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service will be joined by colleagues from North West Ambulance Service, Merseyside Police and HM Coastguard, as well as a number of other local organisations.
