A rampant second-half performance against Leamington saw the Port continue their fantastic run in the league, and are now looking to make it 13 unbeaten against high-flyers Altrincham.

Heading into half-time trailing against the Brakes may have had some worrying the fantastic run could be coming to an end, but a superb five goal performance after the break sent out the message that Liam Watson’s side are far from done.

Braces for Bauress and Charles, and one from Morgan helped the the lads in Old Gold towards their biggest league win of the season.
That result also boosted them up the table once again, now into 11th, and leaving the side four points off the play-off places.

That gap could be cut even shorter this weekend, as they take on the team occupying that final play-off spot, Altrincham.

The Robins find themselves in a bad run of form of late, winning only one in their last six league games and will be even more vulnerable after their last match, suffering a humbling 4-1 defeat to league leaders Chorley, despite going into half-time with the lead.

Phil Parkinson will be hoping his side can return to the form they had before the festive period, where they only dropped two points in eight games as they marched their way up the league.

Despite a recent dip, that pre-Christmas form shows they can not be underestimated with plenty of quality in their side.

Two players who are certainly a threat, were both on the scoresheet of Altrincham’s 2-1 victory over Boston United a few weeks ago.
Both Jordan Hulme and Josh Hancock have 11 goals so far this campaign, being part of a strong attack that is has the third highest amount of goals in the league with 49.

Along with former Salford striker Hulme, Liam Goulding and John Johnston we’re on the scoresheet when the Robins met Southport earlier on in the season.

The 3-1 defeat made it back-to-back defeats for Liam Watson’s side in the opening two games of the campaign, with the Port’s form being far off what it is now.

The side now looks completely rejuvenated and will be desperate to close the gap between them and this weekend’s opponents.

Any thoughts of a relegation battle are now completely forgotten, with a play-off push being more and more realistic each ongoing week.
