The ailing Southport Visiter is paying the price of deserting the town if its latest sales figures are anything to go by...
Its apology for an office on Lord St. closed a while ago and the paper's a far cry from what it used to be when it had local reporters and a local base in Tulketh St.

That is because the news reports are so miserable and depressing, it is far more fun to read the blogs associated to those reports. All media content has become the same - you would honestly think the World was ending according to the newspapers. It may come as somewhat as a surprise - but people do still have fun these days, and there are some hilarious things happen everywhere.

Agree with the doom & gloom reports, mind you, you can dig up newspaper archives from all over the world going back 100 years or more and still the same, nothing changes!!!

Certainly the Midweek Visiter has very little Southport relevance. It mainly features events and news items in Crosby, Formby, Litherland, Maghull and all points south. The number of times Bill Esterson, MP for Sefton Central, is mentioned (with photo) must save the Labour Party from having to put out any party literature throughout Sefton.
