Another pathetic gimmick from the plods. In the words of Hughie Green "It's your vote that counts" (from the very narrow range of issues they have pre-selected). No wonder 90% of crime does not result in prosecution.

True! The Police should not be seen to be political in any sense or form as this creates conflicts of interest and can be viewed as favouritism towards certain people. The Emergency forces, in particular the Police force should be completely neutral in their fight against real crime, which should be their total focus.
Resources and money are being wasted on what is in effect, baby sitting duties. If the PC people want this type of service, then let them form their own agencies to deal with it - the Police are there to deal with real crime!
