A Southport chip shop is battering the competition after being taken over by a new family team and has a very special competition for readers of Qlocal.


Harper’s Fish and Chip shop on Eastbank Street has been refurbished and modernised. which has been a popular chippy 40 years is now changing for the ‘batter’ after being taken over by local businessman Matthew Waller.

Matthew told Qlocal “Harpers has taken a battering over the years with very little investment and care taken over the quality of the food and customer experience. That was the past, the future is bright for Harper's. We now only source the freshest Cod & Haddock and where possible source all our other ingredients from local reputable wholesalers”.

“We are acutely aware of Harper’s distant past reputation as one of the best Fish & Chip Restaurants in Southport and we are working to revitalise this reputation and make Harpers a destination for Traditional English seaside Fish & Chips again.”
