    I really miss the Lido.....can't believe they have never rebuilt it....with all this new fangled gadgetry they have nowadays it would be easy to put a retracting roof etc....... Had some great days there from about the age of six onwards :(

    Does anyone have any recollections of Blundells Coaches which I think were based in Cemetary Rd? I recall the traffic had to stop as the coaches eased their way down between two houses to the sheds at the rear.

    Sunday afternoons Uncle Macs was the place to be from 1954 until The El Cabala opened (opposite Junes) Jolley's restaurant got some popularity too. The great aroma from the Kardoma was something else. The first Chinese cafe was The Oriental, top of Seabank Rd I think.
