Head Hurts!!
Been sat reading the 'Southport Past and Present' threads all the way back to Jan 2007, and it's taken me a few hours!! Never looked at this history forum before!! Been missing out big time!! It's brought back a few childhood memories for me, even though im only early 30's, I remember my mum taking me into the doll's hospital down ashley road as a kid, but found it pretty disturbing with all those creepy dolls eyes following you around the shop!!

I know - once I get on here I spend ages looking at all the threads too.
I love the old photographs and that one of my Grandma (Johnson) and my mum's brothers gave me a surprise.
It's amazing just how knowledgeable people are about the area, and so entertaining too. I think the stories of what the youngsters (now in their "later" years) got up to are great.

Been sat reading from Past and Present re Dolls hospital
, I too remember the Dolls Hospital in Ashley road, back in the 60s,The couple that ran it were good at repairing both new and antique dolls, In fact when I got interested in collecting I bought quite a few antique dolls from them, they had a wonderful collection out of sight, including dolls clothes lace trimmings etc. It was really quite a treasure trove. I cant remember their names but he was a portly fella and his wife had been seriously burnt in a fire probably in her youth I think, they were a great couple and they had a lovely little girl who would have been around 8/9 in the early 70s. Does anyone know what happened to them all.

I remember them appearing as guests on 'This is your life' but can't remember who the famous person was.
