These old signs are wonderful. A good way of seeing where places were and what they were
What kind of hospital was it? Isolation seems to be going through my mind but the building looks horrible More like a warehouse

This was the site of Southport Infirmary. after it moved after outgrowing its Lord street site, it then went on to outgrow its Virginia Street site and then moved to Pilkington Road. The rest is history, as they say.
I think I'm right.

Manchester Road
Here is an old mosaic sign set in to the floor of a shop on Manchester Road. I don't know what profession / business, James Willman had but the sign will have been expensive and time consuming to create.

Mr Dark Horse, since I now live in Bournemouth, seeing your pics brings back many happy memories for me.
Please may I ask a favour, are there any remains pertaining to the old chocolate shop and cafe known as Matti and Tissots that was in Lord Street?
thanks

T. Seymour Mead name tiles (white on green) were recently exposed underneath the windows of Hillside Kitchens on the corner of Liverpool and Arundel roads.
Unfortunately they were covered up again with plywood today, just before I got there with my camera.
