    Underneath the arches?

This is a bit of a long shot but here goes.
In the early 1970's I guess it was, I seem to recall some sort of "lost property" booth under an archway by the railway line somewhere between southport station and Birkdale station.
Possibly in the vicinity of Railway Terrace.

It may not have been a lost property booth, it could have been something else, I just have a vauge recollection of something ......

Can anyone shed any light on this?

    cheers

The only 'archway' of any kind I can think of between Southport & Birkdale stations was the footbridge opposite Belmont St, but don't think there could have been anything underneath it.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me.

Could it be the clock tower works between Duke and Banastre Rd(on Railway St)?

Off subject I admit, but as a young child I was with my mum who was visiting some friends in Railway St. I think. The friend said something like "that the noise of the trains sounded as if they were coming through the front room". I took this as literally true and was disappointed that we hadn't stayed longer to witness the event.
