    Quiet

It's all gone a bit quiet, stick to being a football club as that is the only thing the club is worth.

    Cammy is alive

ST HELENS 122 all out (28.3 overs)
    SOUTHPORT TRINITY 123 for 3 (17.2 overs)

Southport Trinity ended their disappointing 2007 campaign in style with a thumping 7 wicket demolition of St Helens at The Rookery on Saturday.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat but were soon made to wish they hadn't as a revitalised Anthony Hall and 15 year old Aaron Halsall set about the top order with a devastating opening burst.

Halsall removed both openers before Hall did the main damage with an impressive 5 wicket haul to leave the St Helens line up in tatters.

Jimmy Haynes chipped in with another 3 wickets as for once, Trinity managed to hold on to their catches.

Dominic Butler claimed two stunning efforts in the gully before the catch of the season was snaffled at second slip by that man Hall, diving full length in front of the wicket keeper to send the Rookery faithful into delirium, hard to believe it was his first ever catch in the slips.

Hall polished things off in the 29th over with wickets in successive balls, leaving him an anxious seven month wait for his hat trick ball as the innings ended with St Helens 122 all out.

In reply, Trinity were determined to sign off in style and despite losing John Murray in his last game as a single man for just 4, Mark Foster sent the ball to all corners, smashing 8 fours and a six in his 47 from just 32 balls.

Wim Van der Walt joined in the fun with a run a ball 27 before it was left to two Trinity stalwarts to guide the Rookery men to victory. At 89 for 3, the visitors sensed an outside chance of victory but the experience of Chris Hodge and Tony Campbell had other ideas as they edged their side towards a well earned success.

With one final desperate throw of the dice, the league's leading wicket taker Rakesh Patel was brought on to salvage something for the visitors but Campbell crashed his first ball through the covers for four before smashing the next one back over his head for another boundary to give Trinity a convincing victory to at least end the season on a high note.

See he only put a report in because he was a star for the day or so he thinks, the fact that he edged the two fours is not mentioned at all by FT
    Enough said
