Noddy & Big Ears Save The Day
Trinity lost the toss and were put into bat on a damp wicket, this seemed to be an important toss to win,as Trinity were quickly reduced to 63 for 9,it was at this point that Andy (Noddy) Nowell joined Simon (Big Ears) Rushton in the middle, for what was to be a match winning partnership.
This may not have been the case when Hesketh Bank missed the simplest of run out chances, when the score was on 67,Rushton and Nowell (25*) both played aggressively, taking the score to 135,Rushton eventually being bowled for a fine 32.
After the best teas of the season, provided by the hard work of Tom and Dave Smigg, with a little help from Dee,Trinity set about ripping through the heart of the Hesketh Bank batting.
Paul Morris bowled a mixed bag,but still ended up with 3-27, Steve Bryan worked tirelessly and was rewarded with 2-28,it was then left to Noddy to wrap the tail up,with career best figures of 5 for 19,this was a good bowling performance for the Rookery based outfit, the only blip was Webby, who unlike Spiderman, could not get anything to stick, putting 4 chances down at slip.
With a Final on the horizon this coming weekend,Trinity's batsmen should be putting in some much needed practice on Tuesday night!
Sundays Hampson Cup Final is to be played at the Rookery against Tarleton 2nds with a 1.30 start, one player unable to play in the final will be the dependable Simon Rushton who suffers from big match nerves,we have been informed that he needs to take a break far away from the game on Sunday,so has opted to go and sun himself at his Florida shack,we also understand that any player wishing to visit his place will be made most welcome at a hugely discounted rate,he can also organise shark fishing trips as well as passes to all theme parks, lunch with Mickey Mouse is $5 extra.

All Square at Churchtown
Trinity had to settle for a tie against Graham Knowles's more experienced Churchtown side.
Batting first Churchtown were restricted to a mere 81 runs as Kirkman 4-19,Smith 2-29,Robson 2-19 and Ashton 1-9 all bowled a good line and length, had it not been for some missed chances behind,Churchtown would of struggled to post a score of 50.
However big Eddie Bancroft came charging in to take 5 wickets and leave Trinity on the brink of defeat, however some fine resistance down the order meant that with 1 wicket left and 15 overs to go Trinity were hot favourites as they required just 2 to win,it was not to be as the last pair were run out going for a suicidal second run to leave both sides on 81 all out.
Trinitys Kirkman(20),D Smith(19) and veteran Meadows(12) scored the bulk of the runs, had Shaun Robson not been rocked back infront of his stumps first ball(Golden) and given out Lbw by"Fangs" the result may have gone to the boys from the Rookery
