Saturday saw Trinity defeat a much weakened Churchtown side at the Rookery by a huge 150 runs.
Batting first Trinity made an impressive total of 200-3 dec with Andy Meadows top scoring with 72,veteran Rimmer weighed in with a knock of 57 and skipper Andy Nowell a useful unbeaten
30.
Graham Knowles was the pick of the bowlers with 2-30 with Southworth taking 1-19.
Churchtown were never in the hunt after Skipper Knowles(17) fell to a stunning catch by the agile Simon Rushton only Winterburn with 18 showed any resistance after that as the side crumbled to 50 all out with John Armitage taking 5-15 and Nowell 3-4.

The third eleven continue to impress all that see them,as yeserday they booked their place in the Hampson Trophy quarter Finals with win an easy 9 wicket win over Newburgh.
After bowling the home side out for 65 they knocked the runs off with ease with Andy"average" Meadows carrying his bat through the innings, the entertainment however came from Danny Hodgson with a quikfire 28 and the versatile Steve Young with a lightning fast 14 including a massive 6 with his new bat, which by all opinions is still going
The pick of the bowlers for Trinity was John Armitage.

Squad rotation system backfires as College hang on for a draw
The squad rotation system used by Andy Nowell for once backfired on him as his side failed to dismiss ten man Southport College yesterday at Ferryside lane.
On a poor track Trintys batsmen struggled to a modest 125-9 declared with only Danny Hodgson with 58 coming to terms with the wicket, although former St Pauls all rounder Dave Lydiate scored as useful 16 on his return to the ground.
Ranat with 3-15 and Noden with 2-4 were the pick of the College's bowlers.
Southport College themselves found it hard going against the inform John Armitage, who again led from the front as he took 4-34,had it not been for some stubborn resistance from Boyd with 38 not out and a couple of dropped catches Trinity would have fancied their chances of a win,but as catches win matches this was not to be as the College finished on 102-7,with Andy Nowell himself the other bowler to shine with 3-25.
With a huge squad to pick from, the likes of Steve Young,Simon Rushton,Roy Webster and Barry Short will have to wait in the wings a little longer until their turn comes again for a place in the starting eleven.
Steve Young and Simon Rushton show their frustration yesterday with a home made sign,as they both fell foul of the new rotation system

Southport Trinity 3rds booked their place in the semi finals of the Hampson Cup on Sunday after beating Newburgh at the Rookery by 3 wickets in closely fought contest.
Batting First Newburgh lost a couple of quick wickets to young Tom Smith early on,they however dug in and posted a more than useful score of 168-8 off their 40 overs with Muirhead(49) the pick of the batsmen,Coomber(37) and Blanchard(22) also added very useful runs.
Trinitys bowling honours went to Tom Smith with 3-30 off his 8 overs, captain Andy Nowell also chipped in with a useful 2-27 and Shaun Robson grabbed 1-17,a mention should also go to Andy Meadows after his superb pick-up and throw knocked the stumps out with a direct hit.
Trinity got off to a steady start with Jeff Rimmer and Andy Meadows both scoring 21,Danny Hodgson(20) looked to be going well until he ran himself out going for a quick single that was never there and the innings looked unsteady,Steve and Paul Bryan both fell cheaply and Shaun Robson hit a couple of boundaries before being bowled round his legs for 12,it was left to John Armitage and captain Andy Nowell to push the score along at the required rate, they did without much trouble until Nowell tried to dance down the track once too often and was easily stumped for 28,this brought in the injured Steve Young who had to bat with a youthful runner(Shaun Robson) due to a swollen knee which he picked up when he collided with his own player(S Bryon) whilst fielding.
Armitage took initial control of the strike as Young tried to find his range with the bat and stay on his feet,it wasnt until the penultimate over that he managed it though with a pulled stroke for four to the mid wicket boundary, with six needed to win,he elected to smash the next ball over long on for six to book his side a place in the semi finals,Young finished unbeaten on 24 with John Armitage unbeaten on 21,pick of the Newburgh bowling attack was Coomber with 2-42.

With the squad rotation system now in full swing a new look side took the trip up to Tarleton last Saturday.
Tarleton batted first and rode their luck slightly as eight catches were put down by the Trinity fielders as the posted a score of 219-4 declared off 49 overs with 64 from Marshall and 44 from Solari,Tom Smith 1-9 and John Armitage with 1-43 were the pick of the bowlers.
Trinity were never in the hunt for the runs and crashed to a very dismal score of 71 all out, with only Dave Lydiate(18) and John Armitage(16) showing any application at all with the bat,Elliot was the star for Tarleton as he took 7-27 in 14 overs and was well backed up by Solari 2-20 and Fletcher 1-14.
