super league darts- Heywood vs Southport Soups.

Before I do a brief mental report on Sunday's Super League DArts match. I know this is a Pool Forum But Im getting GB to Start a DArt Forum so this report will get moved across later.

The first game of the Season saw the port making a long Journey to Heywood. In John O's new mini bus that was purchased on E-bay only days before the start of the season we had french Sat Nav lady to direct us and swear at us in french when we made wrong turns. Me good self was still bladdered from the night before as the Dell went mental with my Birthday Party upstairs and a Party downstairs brought many interesting charachters to the new home of Super League darts.
gotta say i did enjoy wearing the spiderman glasses that I found in the glove compartment and was contemplating wearing them for my match.

After arriving at our destination late, which is nothing new for the travelling port players there was obviously a dilema what 10 players would be playing as we had 13 eager beavers waiting to do battle with spears and only 10 matches to be played. The draw was made and I didnt see my name so I spat my dummy out and went the bar only to find that I had actually come out in the draw and must of passed out for a few minutes when my name got pulled out?
First on was MAd Dog Jimmy Howard and he drew Heywood's most recognised player In Daz Latham who is a World PDC player, think he lost to Colin Lloyd in the quarters of the Scottish open last year? Any ways Mad Dog got of to a flyer in the first to legs and went 2 zip up, the 3rd leg was tight and Mad Dog had a chance to take out skinny lipstick but just failed and Latham stepped in to make it 2-1. In a tight fought 4th leg latham pipped mad dog to make it a tense decider. with the momentum with Daz Latham and with the throw he was able to sneak a victory over mad dog. Unusual for Mad Dog to loose and the port players are not used to seeing that so we knew we had a tough match in the process.
Next on was Toe Enldey (freindly according to our new dart shirts) he was up against one of the younger players you will find at Super Leauge. Although the youngster pounded in a few big tons it was no match for Enleys experiance and dart brain and Toe took the match comfortably 3-0. Think Toe managed to pop in a 180 just in case in the last leg? To be honest I was pretty hammered from the night before and some of this report could well be made up as Im trying to remember what happened dont know if some flashbacks i have been getting are actually correct as I saw a jumping dog on the motorway on route that john said did not exsist? very scary!!!

so with the score on 1-1 Ged 'Celtic' Kelly stepped up to the arena and in the first leg was struggling to find the treble.
This all changed in the next 3 legs as he produced some magic darts and wacked in a 135 135 140 treble 17 then skinny lipstick to procduce the leg of the day and take out an 11 dart leg.
in the next leg Celtic had a shot at a 12 darter but did it in 14 I think? The 4th leg was also solid and Ged took the port to a 3-1 lead. Geds Average overall was 87 and in one leg it was 106 and in the 11 darter it was 136? scary!!

    to be continued.........
