BOOTLE KNOWSLEY 1 PORTLAND 2
Portland ended the season on a high with a 2-1 victory that gave them a 5th place finish in the Sunday Premiership with a points tally of 31.
Goals from Tom Caffrey and Craig Green gave the visitors all three points.
Both teams could only field a side containing ten men,as late cry-offs and the warm sunny weather kept players away and managers frustrated

It is with regret that the club has taken the decision to withdraw the Reserve team from the S&D Sunday League.
Spirraling costs, players work commitments and social life have forced the club to take the decision as it was becoming harder each season to field two teams.
With the club only operating with the one team
it is hoped that with the recruitment of several new players along with some players from the former reserve team squad, the competion for places next season will make for a healthier set up at the club.
Details on pre season training will appear on SGB in the coming weeks.
Last seasons Reserve team manager Daz Taylor will stay with the club and will be in charge of all pre season training sessions.

Sorry to hear that Birky, real pity that local clubs cant field a couple of teams. Looks like Dell are folding after 35 years and rumour has it that Marshside Hesketh could be on their way out. Could it be that there are to many teams competing for to few players, cant understand why the league keep allowing more and more sides in, saying that the sides they let in are not from Southport, should we be calling it the Formby and District League. Would suite the Ayatolla down to the ground that.
(RIP Dell Rangers 1974 - 2009 Killed by vindictivness.)
