It is very difficult to understand your post because of the dreadful grammar and spelling, however, I think I've got the gist of it

I created an argument about how you have called John a fool.

I don't want to compliement (sic) you in any way at all and my opinion of you stands.

I will have my say on here, and voice my opinion, and it is nothing to do with you, and I coldn't care less what you say...

    Sic ????????? What ??

    Get out of his a***...

Advance...........I answer your questions the best I can.

Using the word "fool" may have been a bad choice of a word by you.

I gave it some thought and realised it may just be a local or rural custom of addressing some one in your part of the world .

Like in Newton le willows/ Earlestown area, men address other men as "love"... "Thanks love."

In Liverpool "Princess", "Queen " " all right Queen "refer to woman.

But I gave you the benefit of the doubt about the word "FOOL"

But other posters saw your post differently.
Advance you should understand when other posters comment may be you should think again about your choice of word.

You have upset WJS and Marilyn who is a respected poster on sgb.

I do appreciate your input on the thread, but please do not upset other posters.

    Thanks

Thanks WJS and Marilyn for your in put.

Hmmm. On reflection, I see how I could of cause offense to you and that is what I am sorr y about, to be frank I couldn't care less about them, I think they are too rather rude, but quite pathetic more...

Like I say, you can't please everyoe and this instance is an example, you agree you are a cheeky chappy right ??

Well, so am I, I see this has obviusly annoyed you, and sorry if I upset you, I won't call you a fool anymore.

But jus t to clear it up I did not mean to offend you, just simply a little light hearted joke, then you get the stirers come in and magnify the issue 500x... Not needed...

This all I have to say on the matter, and will not be posting on this topic anymore, if you want to talk more abot this any of you, I advise you to PM me, and to stop spammning this thread...

I too have been wondering what John's/Antiqueman's reaction really is to some of the "rude-sounding" requests from Andvanced. I may be reading things wrong, but I get the feeling that sometimes when John does give his opinion on a value, Advanced wants to argue with it!

Where John has said "no value" Advanced argues that he things he can make a profit--so why does Advanced have to ask John? If he thinks he can make a profit then go for it!

I do admire John's patience--and I do feel that he appears to be taken advantage of.

Discussion (and I repeat--discussion--of antiques is one thing. Asking for a valuation on so many items , especially at one time, is another.

I think a "student antique dealer/trader" should learn from his/her own experience--buy what you like, sell it for what you want, and learn from what happens.

My opinion, sorry. And my applause to John for his patience--in looking up all the various links Advanced supplies.

Oh, and surely, Advanced, there is a decent antique dealer closer to you that you could befriend in person and learn much more than you can by distant forums?

I would just like to say it is always nice to get a second opinion on an item, and to ask John, if he thinks it is worth a lot or not, I always thank John, and really am greatful for his time and posts, really I am...

Now please stop jumping on the band wagon and making this a witch hunt, I have said my piece and opligised what is the need to stir this?

Also why do you think I am a student...?? This could be deemed insulting...

"I repeat--discussion--of antiques is one thing. Asking for a valuation on so many items , especially at one time, is another"

"Discuss antiques and get a free opionion and valuation from famous John C Nolan of King Street Antiques"

    Hmmm... I see your logic...??

Maybe we should talk abut tennis, or right a lot of complaining comments, that wouldn't be really dul land boring, and glum and gloomy...??

The above is a good indication of the grounds that I, among an increasing number of people, are cutting back on reading this forum. Sorry but that's the way of life. If you give some people a finger they want to eat the whole hand, and the arm and shoulder too.
And the terrible English used by the would-be-trainee-antique dealer makes it even worse. Maybe spending an evening a week at evening-school would be a worthwhile start?
I would have thought that antique dealerss (active or would-be) would differentiate between a smaller number of interesting items and a large amount of car-boot stuff. With these two monopolists we are rapidly reaching the latter,I feel.

I am now becoming dubious to know if you are actually a real person or someone who enjoys putting vandetta on certain people, this forum site is and should be about people "
Discussing antiques and get a free opionion and valuation from famous John C Nolan of King Street Antiques". Not childish, unfledged, pitiful, people making pointless threads complaining about anything they feel they can. Remember I said if you have anything more to say on the matter feel free to PM me, you complain about this forum going down hill, but I am afraid I have to disagree with you there again, since me and one other have started posting, it seems more people are warming to this forum, and the hit count under views of the threads seems to be increasing... Yes, you will uundoubtly get the odd one complaining that the forum is actually becoming ACTIVE...

On the other hand though you have to understand posting a point which evidently is going to end up in dispute, how is this great for the forum either...

Well, at least you tried to present your argument in English that didn't need to be read at least twice to be understood. Not that the English was anything to write home about.

Don't ridicule me, you arrogant hotshot... You think you win a debate my quoting me on grammar mistakes... You are so worthless, it is pointless me trying to justify myself to you...
