Briana, I think you will find that this site has gained posters in the long run with your presence on here. So congratulations! If I am wrong in thinking this - I have enjoyed reading through all posts posted by you. This is a learning experience for both of us, which I am just going to take the time to say thank you to Vanny for!

On another note. Vanny, what have you done with those pictures, just by way of interest. Maybe you could invest in some 17th Century old masters for me. I am sure that is wishful thinking.

Hello and Thank you, I have just got my valuation back from Valuemystuff and they said it is circa 1900 and valued between 200-300. I did send them a lot more photos though. It might look modern because I tried to polish it with bees-wax and pledge
The antique trade is full of opinions

especially when it costs nearly £4

    MY REPLY

Hi, as you know the item you have sent a photograph of is not an antique.
but IF it is an original Barry Macey water colour then it worth a quite a
bit of money. By the way your picture is very large on my screen.
Barry Macey was an in-house artist with Paddington & Co. Ltd. for a number
of years and did the artwork for quite a number of the older products and
some of the prints. He also illustrated "Paddington on Screen", a
compilation of stories from the Blue Peter annuals.
My advice is to take it to one of the major auction houses to verify the
    item is not a print.
Unfortunately the art market is a funny world. in 2005 3 pictures similar
to yours came up for auction and none of the sold.

There is a drawing advertised in artbol.nl
€ 3.150,37. This item I think may be over priced

    good luck

    hi,
Even though your picture is of the most famous person that has ever lived, I am sorry to say it has very little value.

But can I say, if the human race viewed the values of the person in the picture, your picture would be priceless.

    good luck

    Valuation Please

I have a Heathcote China Best Bone Tea set that I wonder if you could value please.
I have done some internet research, but I have never seen any square tea sets by this company,or any reference to the number on the bottom of the sugar bowl. The style of the stamp suggests circa 1928.
    (see enclosed pics)

    Many Thanks

    Regards

    Mark

the back stamp on your items is pre 1924

it was also used between 1928-1941

the patern is called by the members of the public as "THEIR CROWN DERBY" set.

The cobolt blue and the gold resembles the look Royal Crown Derby. But the quality is not.

    bone china

Sets like this was made before WW1 and made afterwards.
Made with a round saucer and plate and as we got closer to the late 1920s and 1930s square sets were designed. Customers had a choice round or square and as I have found most customers preferred the square plates and saucers, but I feel the square cups where hard to drink out of, so you very seldom see them on the open market.

The Americans go crazy for this pastern
remember it was made by lots of company's
some people give it a name of Gourdy Welsh

In the states they would be sold as 6 trio sets at approx $29 to $39 each set

shame you do not have the tea pot.

I see the slop bowl/sugar bowl is discolored.

try putting bleach in the bowl to clean it.

An auction price in England would be £15 to £25 - commission insurance, vat, lotting fee, etc.

church hall antique fair £35 set

    carboot sale/ charity shop £15-£18

    in my shop I have a 4 set and a 6 set both £19.99

    all the best
