Very good, so if it makes it as far as Vancouver I could meet SGB'ers there to sign OR if it's back safe and sound next May I can sign it in Southport

Hey, Vanman. You mentioned you'd be in Vancouver some time now. Is that trip still on?

That would be worth a ferry trip to Vancouver In the meantime Smithy we should have a "practice" GTC in Horseshoe Bay, maybe at Trolls. Since my last birthday the Government kindly allow me free ferry trips

Good idea Sylvia. E-mail me or phone me (604) 885 2144 the next time you're sailing to Horseshoe Bay and I'll meet you off that ferry. Come over as a foot passenger. I'll get six or seven pints down you and escort you back safely to the last ferry to Nanaimo and your awaiting partner. Good luck. (Posters. Thanks for putting up with these personal messages.)

Vanman. If you're coming to Vancouver we can have a bit of a GTG at Horseshoe Bay which is a picturesque and convenient ferry terminal for me and sfroms (Sylvia) who's from Vancouver Island. It's only a twenty minute drive from Vancouver. Maybe you're familiar with it. Sandy (Ontario) is rolling in money and will probably fly across the Rockies for it. Mookie can get to it easily as he's close to the main highway leading there and he can actually read the directions. Mike Dolan, the knowledgeable intellectual from the other Southport site, keeps threatening to visit B.C. too. Keep us informed. You might even be greeted with balloons and a bunch of wilting flowers at the airport. Don't fly 'Air Canada'.

Vanman: Air Canada could go belly up bankrupt anytime soon. It's not the great airline it used to be. My sister travelled on Air Canada this last summer. Terrible. Baggage handlers wouldn't transfer their luggage at Toronto (for Vancouver) because of a thunderstorm warning. So they had to wait for the next flight (two hours) which means I was hanging around Van airport for two hours. Air Canada didn't tell awaiting friends and relatives what was going on.

On the way back their plane burst a tire and some of it went into an engine. Engine shut down. They had to dump fuel over Lake Ontario and return to Toronto under emergency (head between your knees, please) procedures. Had to wait another 12 hours for replacement plane. Slept on Airport Floor (all local hotels full).
Fly with them if you like Vanman but have a sleeping bag in your take-on luggage.

    Air Canada

Vanman,I say use them I did in June/July and they were superb on my way to Detroit via Toronto, always on time and great service from all cabin crew onboard e

Even Air Canada Jazz were great for the short shuttle trip to Detroit, found them to be spot on in all they did and would have no hesitation in using them again next time
Theres only one Old Trafford...The cricket ground where you can drink beer all day long :

I believe that you can't get travel insurance if you're flying with Air Canada now. As Smithy says, they are on the verge of bankruptcy. No more government bail outs for them this time. I have always flown AC, not any more though.

Vanny, bluddyell that was quick. Where did the black book go....Birkdale?
