People travelling in the Liverpool City Region are being urged to plan their journeys and check before they travel ahead of planned industrial action by members of Unite, GMB on Arriva bus services.

Strike action is due to affect Arriva bus services on Monday 13th, Monday 20th and Monday 27th November.

    Monday 13th, 20th and 27th November

    How you can help

Consider your alternative travel options. You can use the Merseytravel journey planner.
Check timetables and leave more time for your journey.
Avoid travelling at peak times where possible.
Stick to public transport wherever possible to reduce congestion on key routes in and out of the city centre including Mersey Tunnels.
Speak to your employer about whether there is any flexibility in working times or the possibility of working from home.

    Bus services

Arriva services in Merseyside will not be running with the exception of the 713 and the existing park and ride services in Southport.

All Arriva tickets will be accepted on Stagecoach services on the advertised Quality Bus Network however these services will be very busy. Details about the Quality Bus Network can be found here.

Arriva weekly tickets only will be accepted on Halton Transport Quality Bus Network route as advertised on their website.

Arriva customers with pre-paid Arriva tickets will be able to use them on the Merseyrail and Northern rail networks.

Stagecoach, and all other, bus services are due to run as planned.

If you are travelling to Liverpool John Lennon Airport you will need to make alternative arrangements as there will be no bus services running.

ADVICE: Plan ahead check bus timetables, consider alternative options and allow more time for your journeys.

    Rail services

Merseyrail and Northern services are due to run as planned.

ADVICE: Expect transport services to be busier so check timetables and allow more time for your journeys.
