How you can help
Consider your alternative travel options. You can use the Merseytravel journey planner.
Check timetables and leave more time for your journey.
Avoid travelling at peak times where possible.
Stick to public transport wherever possible to reduce congestion on key routes in and out of the city centre including Mersey Tunnels.
Speak to your employer about whether there is any flexibility in working times or the possibility of working from home.
Bus services
Arriva services in Merseyside will not be running with the exception of the 713 and the existing park and ride services in Southport.
All Arriva tickets will be accepted on Stagecoach services on the advertised Quality Bus Network – however these services will be very busy.

Yes, without strike action you will often fall further & further behind, striking is not just for the current dispute it is an investment for the future.

It`s just sad that the drivers aren`t bright enough to see this for themselves. When Christmas arrives and they realise they`ve lost two weeks wages, perhaps the message will get through.
Do they not understand that Comrade Boughton, who is probably on two or three times the salary they are on, doesn`t lose a penny, whilst they are striking.

The real beneficiaries from strikes are the Union leaders for whom strikes "justify" their existence, not forgetting the rather large salaries most of them enjoy. Unfortunately, many of the strikers themselves are unable to grasp this simple concept and retain this romantic notion that their leaders are acting in the members' interests. It's pathetic to behold how gullible they are. Oh well, sheep will be sheep. They never were the brightest of creatures.

figures were provided today by the TaxPayers’ Alliance which revealed the total pay of the union leaders who earned more than this was about £5.7million over the last year.
The five bosses who earned more than the Prime Minister’s £149,440 included Russell Hobby, of the National Union of Head Teachers, who was paid £161,548, John Smith, general secretary of the Musicians Union (£155,728) and TUC general secretary Frances O’Grady (£152,365).
