Churchtown Village Church, on Botanic Road, Churchtown (PR9 7NG) is holding its 70th Annual Garden Fete and Rose Queen Festival on Saturday 8th July.

There is a procession around the village starting from church at 1:30pm, returning for the crowning ceremony in the church at 2:00pm.

We are lucky to have Hesketh Bank Silver Band leading our procession and performing in the church during the afternoon. Churchtown Warblers, from Churchtown Primary School, will also be in the procession and will be performing in the church hall later in the afternoon.

Our Rose Queen Elect, Miss Rebecca Link, will be crowned by Miss Hilda Young. Our retiring Rose Bud Queen, Miss Sophie Wall, will also be in attendance, along with several visiting Rose Queens, Rose Bud Queens and Sunday School Queens from other local churches.

Admission is free and there will be a Grand Raffle, afternoon teas and many stalls and games to enjoy.

Churchtown Village Church is part of the United Reformed Church and was established by the Rev George Greatbatch in 1807.
