An adult male and an adult female were arrested yesterday, (Sunday 22nd July) on suspicion of affray, after Southport Local Policing Team officers attended reports of people fighting on Nevill Street.
Other Local Policing team officers assisted in returning children who were at the scene to their home address.

Have you assumed the children referred to were the children of the adults fighting? That's quite a leap from what has actually been writtten.

Unless the Police who returned "children who were at the scene" to their home just picked up some unrelated kids and decided to take them home.

Well if it was their parents who were arrested it's unlikely the children would have been taken back to an empty house.
