'This week the Government reached an important milestone in the Brexit negotiations. The draft proposal for Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union has been agreed by the Prime Minister. The complex legislative agreement reads over 500 pages. Before I can render a judgement on it, I will read this document thoroughly.

Away from Brexit matters, I met with the Tunisian Ambassador to the UK, HE Nabil Bed Khedher, to discuss the success of the delegation that I led to Tunis last week during November recess. The delegation was the first to Tunisia since the terrorist attack in Sousse in 2015. I was joined with my colleagues from the Tunisia APPG to meet with Tunisia officials and further UK-Tunisian relations.

The Government is clamping down on tax evasion. I met with the Financial Secretary to the Treasury to discuss measures set out in the Finance Act 2017.

I also attended my usual meetings with the Petitions and Science & Technology Committees.

This week was special because it marked 100 years since women gained the right to vote. This year’s UK Parliament Week was celebrated by many community groups in Southport. This week is all about learning about the importance of Parliament in our democracy and our communities.

Thank you as ever for your interest.

    Damien

I hope you've put your letter in to the 1922 committee and aren't one of the spineless pretend "brexiteers" supporting Treason May's stitch up.

That'll be about how it does all it can to deny the decisive will of the people, then, will it? Democracy, my a r s e.

I sincerely hope that Mr. Moore is prepared to argue the proposed draft agreement on behalf of all the people - both those supporting to Remain and Brexit supporters.

The proposed draft means that in effect we will not be leaving the EU. It means that we will have to continue to abide by their rules and pay membership costs while not having any say in policies that may be detrimental to the UK. This is not Brexit! It is not even Democratic - it means that we will be tied to a Dictatorship. There is no requirement for a Customs Union, we do not need it and It means that there will be no unilateral way out of the membership. The EU can be persuaded to renegotiate if the UK Government stated that we were leaving without signing the agreement.

There have been several false arguments creating long delays in actioning Brexit - the people have shown great restraint in allowing this - but are clear that they will wait no longer than March 2019 for a clear and decisive end to EU membership.
