A family fun day held at Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service's Training & Development Academy has raised £1,588 for the Fire Fighters Charity.

The event, which took place on Friday 10th August, saw more than 1,000 people enjoy an action-packed programme of activities and entertainment.

Visitors had the chance to see how crews handle a rescue following a road traffic collision, as well as the opportunity to step on board Liverpool John Lennon Airport's fantastic Fire Tender engine, and one of MFRS' Search and Rescue crafts.

Crews also performed a live abseiling demonstration and other activities during the free event.

Partner agencies including Merseyside Police, North West Ambulance Service, HM Coastguard, British Army, British Transport Police, Merseyside Search and Rescue, MFRS Heritage & Education, SP Energy Networks and the Salvation Army were also in attendance on the day.

All funds raised on the day will be donated to the Fire Fighters Charity.
