His chauffeur driven black Jaguar was driven at speed around to the back of the hospital where Mr Hunt disappeared into the Education centre.
In there he met with hospital management and staff. He did not meet any patients on the wards.
Mr Hunt recently praised the Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust for “exceptional improvement” in the first three months of the year.
According to Mr Hunt, the trust was the most improved in England between January and March for treating patients efficiently.
During his 2 hour visit Mr Hunts Jaguar was parked up for the majority of the time in three disabled spaces in the car park.
Upon leaving Mr Hunt refused to pose for photographs and was whisked quickly away.
