Bedford Park Social Club was established in 1947 as a social club for retired ex servicemen. The club originally consisted of Two Bowling Greens , a tennis court and the club room containing snooker tables.



Over the years because of councils cuts both bowling greens and tennis courts became defunct leaving just the club room.

Members have enjoyed the social and camaraderie that the club afford and many lifelong friendships where forged.

The last few years have been particularly difficult for the club as members aged and the Club became a target for vandals.

It was because of this the members decided they had no other options but to call it a day and did so in June 2017 after 60 years. A sad day for all connected with the club.

The club members wanted to help local charities with the funds they had collected over the years. We are glad to say we where able to donate £6000 to six very deserving local charities.

Donation of £1000 to Home start Southport local charity helping families to get through difficult times

Donation of £1000 to Promenade Bowling club to help install new kitchen

Donation of £1000 to Galloway's for the blind to help blind and partially sighted people with aids ect,

Donation of £1000 to The Stroke Association assisting people recovering after a stroke

Donation of £1000 to Southport Lifeboat a local cause helping people in danger at sea.

The Club has finally closed causing much distressed to it's members

Now instead of being able to go to the clubhouse a lot will stay at home and might not see anyone for days. When are society going to wake up and start dishing out punishment that fits the crime. Horsewhip the worthless sh*te if they get caught.
