When someone hit Sally Wilson's car and drove off, she was left with a substantial bill at a time of low cash flow.

Not to be daunted she came up with a way to cover the shortfall - 'Cassy's Cards'.

"I used to handcraft cards in my 20's but career, motherhood and life put this on hold," Southport's Sally told QLocal.

"However, I didn't stop collecting materials so I hauled out my stash and set about creating and selling 800 cards in 14 weeks!

"By the time the car bill was covered, Cassy's Cards had taken on a life of its own!"

In addition to creating a range of unique cards, Sally upcycles costume jewellery and re-presents it in framed pictures as gifts.

"I especially love it when I'm commissioned to create a card or gift, such as re-presenting legacy jewellery and personal memorabilia in frames, as it's a privilege to create something for a special occasion," added Sally who mainly sells online at Facebook.com/cassyscards
