The group of Travellers that set up camp on the Kew Park and Ride have had a Section 77 direction ordering them to leave by Sefton Council.

This is fast action by the Council who usually take at least 5 days to evict Traveller groups.

Why a mere 3 months ban?
Why not ban them for life from every possible location in the entire borough?

The travellers claimed to be a 'minority group', which was agreed to in British Law. This allows them to be protected under the protection laws of 1976, since they have their own particular culture, language and values. They also claim their Human Rights.

Their culture includes having their own laws - the travellers tend mostly to ignore British Laws. So these people conveniently use the British laws on Human Rights and Ethnic groups - while also incorporating their own cultural laws - and it is legal??

My own view is that people whose origins stem from poverty learn very quickly how to manipulate any system to suit themselves.
