john whats your opinion on repro furnature and antiques in general? have to ask because i believe you dabble in a little.

my honest opinion is i dont like it,,,the reason i like antiques is because of the craftmenship that has gone into a peice...

maybe thats a insight into the quality of repro furnature i have come across,,,,,i really dont like vineer

by the way john did they collect the religious painting???need to look for a restorer near my area...

    Hi
Furniture has been reproduced from the beginning of time.

a paneled room was taken down and coffers made out of it.

Upright Pianos where made in to display cabinets

Large sideboards made into smaller items.

    Chippendale copied the Chinese

I like some re pro like I like some antiques.

Mahogany re pro furniture made in Indonesia in the 1980s by firms like Gostin of Liverpool was as good if not better than what Chippendale made.

Some of the best antiques is made with veneer wood.

I hate the East End of London look when it comes to re pro furniture.
I hate the yew wood look as well
and the spray lacquer Italian look.

    PAINTING WAS NOT COLLECTED

    refused

    Hi

Normally when a collection is made and the van driver can not collect, he leaves a card.

No card was left on Thursday... I was in all day
When I did go out for lunch I left a note on the door saying call at the china shop ( which I also own ) just across the road.

I waited in Friday and also no collection.

    What firm are you using.
We have a postal strike on in England

Do they know they are collecting from a business.
When the painting arrived they did leave it at the wrong shop.
