i have just bought a large mirror (not antique but collectable)
dating from the 1970's,
the artist is czech and called mucha..
although this is just a retro print on a mirror,,i know people that collect them so i will find a buyer...
the mirror is quite large approx 1 meter in length..
no damage at all and in a lovely chrome coloured frame...
i sold one not to different about a year ago but was done by an irish artist called fitzpatrick..and got £75 for it...
john do you have any thoughts on retro collectables and expecially this peice.....?????
cant wait for your response you probably think i have gone mad..
i have added photo's for anyone to look at to see if they recognise the artist..
A little Ebay buy I see on the water colour.
I do not recognise the artist though...
1970's Mirror not antique . I would say around £20 - £40 on somewhere like Ebay, obviously you would have to factor in the quality of the mirror the size of it and the condition of it.
yeah the mirror is too big for ebay,,,will sell it privatly ,,i think john told me off for buying it,,,,dont blame him though i am trying to learn about antiques not retro collectables.. but i cant walk past a bargain sometimes.. the picture is interesting though i think!!!

Don't shoot the messenger... (John) Haha
But anywayz you say you can't walk past a bargain sometimes, I have the same problem mate, but it is at this point I have to define where I can re sell it, and if it really is a bargain or it is this price for a reason, looks like you have the same problem.
Don't know if I'm a help or a hindrance--and I expect you have already done this--but I "Googled" M. D. Ansell and reached a site, artnet.com, which had something about Ansell. I didn't look further because I would have had to register, and I didn't want to go through all that. I figured if you were interested enough you could look it up and register if necessary.
yeah thanks vivra, i done exactly the same thing but am not sure whether to register or not its about £15 a month to register, maybe next year when i open a shop and have a greater turnover of stock it will be viable to register to the website..thanks for your help....
Oh wow, Briana, I don't blame you--I wouldn't register either if it costs to do so (and monthly too, not just one time.) ! I didn't realize there was a charge, I suppose I didn't check far enough into it.
Here's to succes for you in the next year. By the way, I know Briana isn't you--(you're Carl, right?) anyway, just wanted to let you know my granddaughter's name is Riana--pronounced the same but without the B.
