Fishing Reel
Hi Vanny, We have had a wee clear out this week and we'd be grateful for your opinion on a few things. This is the first, we know that it was my husbands Grandfathers from when he was a boy, which would have been about 1915-1920. There are no markings or engravings on it. It appears to be in very good working order. Thanks x

I think that is known as a Scarborough reel Para. I had one when I bought my first pier fishing outfit as a kid. It really does look in very good condition I'm hoping it's worth something for ya!! I suppose it was the forerunner of the multiplier reel and you could get in a terrible tangle if you did not stop the reel from spinning with your thumb as your weight hit the water.

Para as Wilky said it looks in great condition.
The bad news NO MARKINGS AND NO NAME.
Collectors want a name like Hardy on it.
even so it could bring £30 to £50.
Looking at a photograph an item can look completely different than from looking at it face to face.
