More like Japanese Knotweed. People keep trying to get rid of him, but he keeps coming back.

However, most people do not realise that this is not a modern event in the Middle East. Early history shows that there was animosity between Arabic States and that which was known as Canaan (Lebanon,Syria, Jordan and Israel) as early as 2500 BC. So how does antisemitism feature all those years ago? Canaan, as much of the World at that time comprised of many tribes. They neither spoke a common language nor held the same religious beliefs as shown by archaeologists - but in Canaan they were very industrious, Due to the geographic location, the people were also very successful traders. Over the centuries, Canaan attracted some of the more wealthy traders from various areas, who were very successful business people. These I believe were called something like Hykonites, who mainly settled in North Canaan, that became known as Israel. In the later years Egypt, Syria etc., saw their economies weakening while Israel became strong and successful. The later history has been published in the media. The area of Israel has been a Jewish Kingdom from the time of Saul, the Palestinians arrived later as immigrants from the failing neighboring countries.
The warring in the Gulf states has nothing to do with Israel.

this is just the start
there is anti semtism everywhere but this is the thin end of the wedge,,,,in southport they were safe...no longer....travel round the country as i do, if you are british you feel scared and in the minority....in london, birmingham, northern towns, doncaster blackburn preston etc....we are in the minority,,,anti semitism will turn into anti british eventually..its a short road to this....look at the new shops in our town car washes, barbers, nail bars , massage places,,phone repair shops ..etc..etc fronts for drug dealing and illeagal immigration....our town center will become a no go zone.... its the end for our country as we knew it

Just watching the actress Tracy Ann Oberman on the Victoria Derbyshire programme.
If there is any doubt about anti-semitism, have a watch of this section on the iplayer.
Utterly horrific.
I don't know if anti-semitism is a country-wide problem. It certainly is in the Labour party. If the EHRC find Labour is not compliant with equality laws, then the offenders should be expelled immediately. A root and branch reformation should be undertaken. And Corbyn, who seems to be emboldening this poison, should resign.
I know that the figures state that the complaints procedure account for a small 0.06% of the membership, but even that (if it is a true figure) is far too many.

As you say, antisemitism does exist (across society) and it is horrific.
I watched the program, and read (some) of the tweets, but sadly (in my eyes) she loses some credibility with references to "Corbyn's Labour" and other comments which allude to suggest it's all his fault. It is terrible some of the vitriol that some people can receive on Twitter, and very few deserve any of it ... but to suggest in her case it is all down to Corbyn (... I mean, your "emboldening this poison" comment does this as well) is perhaps naive at best.
Antisemitism existed long before Corbyn was elected leader - so you have to ask why did it not figure so prominently in the mainstream media (as much as it does now) prior to that event?
Sadly, it will also exist long after he has gone ... if he were to resign tomorrow do you really think the problem will go away? ... although it perhaps mightn't get reported as much in the media it will still be there.
A few weeks ago I posted a link highlighting Corbyn's history against these antisemitism claims - he clearly isn't antisemitic and his words and actions speak out against antisemitism at every opportunity.
Unfortunately the mainstream media doesn't find that as interesting - at one stage I myself thought "why doesn't he speak out more about this" but the fact is he does and it just doesn't get reported as it's not relevant to their agenda.
The saddest thing of all is that the people/organisations pushing this agenda are so focused on getting rid of Corbyn and that witch hunt is not going to get rid of antisemitism at all.

Antisemitism has increased horribly since the internet and mass migration.
If one does not look 'Jewish' or dress in a religious way it is a clear way of escaping the insults some people suffer.
I cannot talk about workplace or related antisemitism. That is Mr Hamble's
experience and pain and all of it came from non Christian.
For me it has been easier as I have always had/have jobs in a multicultural setting and hidden my identity.
Antisemitism generally in the UK has risen and what is more horrifying is that a political party has become a hub for airing such views under the guise of supporting The Palestinian cause.

It is not just antisemetism that has increased with the rise of the internet, it is easy for 'keyboard warriors' to spout their rubbish without ever being called to account, also it is not just them hiding behind the internets anonimity but various 'Pressure Groups' and even Governments, the internet is a dark and evil place.

That's very big of you to say, TM.
That's a highly unusual, maybe unprecedented, post on this forum - that's for sure!
Aside from the sake of anyone else, just for the sake of itself the Labour party needs to clean house on this business, once and for all.
It is sad that a party that prides itself on being anti-racist has let one specific type of racism be overlooked.
It's good (in that it's being true to its roots and true to its core membership) that the current Labour party is a Socialist party.
There has been a specific problem that's come with that, though:
https://www.theguardian.com/commenti...malign-history
People that are part of the Labour party machine / structure, and who have been trying to suppress this business, have ultimately done so to the detriment of their own party.
Labour should absolutely stay Socialist - but certainly eradicate the problematic biases that have come with that.

The Conservative party and the Lib Dems are just two organisations (which come to mind) that are delighted that Corbyn is leader of the Labour party.
I expect, then, that you must be referring to other organisations than those.
Do you believe that the Equality and Human Rights Commission is one of the organisations out to get Corbyn?

That is true and I know that you and others have mentioned this point before so I have had time to give an answer.
This thread is about antisemitism.
We often have similar threads.I don't think I am the only Jewish poster
yet I have not come across posters who identify as Muslim or a Traveller or Eastern European.
The Labour Party is under investigation for its treatment of one minority group only.
It is in every Brits interest to feel a Political Party can be trusted not to tolerate racism for the goal of voters and political gain.
Far from being hidden it seems people feel free to make hateful and conspiracy theory statements quite openly.

That is a very interesting article DR.
A lot to absorb so I am going to read it again.
