Pud is a bit of special type. He is a) always busy with other things that are, to him, important, and he only comments here "on the side". He's so busy with the other things, that he hasn't time to read what he types before he posts. Despite that, he is b) one of the most productive posters here. I find it difficult to get a and be to add up.

I'm not proud of that. A fit of pique after months of abuse towards me.
All I can say is don't give it if you can't take it.
But I apologise to Local and anyone else that might have been offended.

Yes. I notice that phenomenon more keenly with Said, but with Local it still holds to a lesser degree.

Poor sad Degsy always a snide comment to unload.
A and B add up quite easily if you are working on something and look for a distraction.
As you have already commented I don't write literary masterpieces.

Your views are public, often coupled with playground insults, yet you have the gall to object when people respond in kind.
I have only ever pointed out the double standards that operate.

Double standards if you weigh these terms as being of equal calibre:
Noun. alcoholic (plural alcoholics) A person addicted to alcohol.
Noun. nonce (plural nonces) (Britain, slang, derogatory, prisons) A sex offender, especially one who is guilty of sexual offences against children.

Good to see that your comments are always a result of a distraction. Maybe we should consider that when we think about what you write.
Snide?
adjective: snide
1.
derogatory or mocking in an indirect way.
My comments are not mocking and in no way are they indirect!

Degsy you are getting out of your depth again, scroll down your google search and you come to;
Snide: Disparaging or derisive in an insinuative way.
You wrote in case you have forgotten already;

It's a clear disparaging or insinuative post with which you end with a suggestion I am not telling the truth.

So repeatedly calling someone an alcoholic over months and months isn't something you see fit to comment on. But 'nonce' is a step too far?
I'm sure he'll be delighted at your springing to his defence.

You're questioning what I can see and can't see on a public forum? Why would you be concerned?
Whatever your problem is, and it's becoming apparent there is one, just let me know.
If it isn't personal, I look forward to you pulling up every poster who insults another, or every poster who insults a politician, or everyone who comments on anyone's physical appearance. And questioning others on what they can and can't see, of course.

I was enquiring as to Local's ideas about the weighting regards double standards, and asking if 'alcoholic' should be considered as strong as 'nonce.' You've suggested that the cumulative sum of frequency of incidence should be part of the weighting, when it comes to consideration of relative strength. Ok!
Also, when I posted that I found that there was absolutely nothing whatsoever in any of your posts that was suggestive that they were the work of someone who was a drinker (thereby countering the groundless suggestion that there was), I don't recall Local declaring that I was springing to your defence or commenting about any prospective delight or otherwise you may have felt about that.
In that instance, if you were delighted - then...ok.
In this instance, if Local actually is delighted - then...ok.
If neither of you are delighted, that's also ok.

I'm not following your through-line about this being "personal" nor why I'm being asked "what my problem is"!
I think you've said before about your expectation that if someone asks one poster something, or scrutinises something about a post, or challenges something a poster says if you don't understand it, etc, then that someone must ask every poster that something, scrutinise every post in the same or similar way, challenge every something any poster says that you don't understand, etc, etc.
I'll have to also decline your new task regards anything insulting on the Forums and questioning every poster on what they can and can't see - because I tend not to pursue fool's errands, or fool's undertakings, set for me, and I'm not aware of any poster on this Forum who tries to achieve the impossible task you've set.
I presume, then, you have that expectation of yourself.
Good luck with that, as you'll need it.

But I didn't did I ?
Saying someone has put up a gin fuelled post is a long way from calling them an alcoholic you made your own connection didn't you?

"look for a distraction" says it all. I rest my case. I can't get a and b to add up.

You judge people by your own pathetic standards,
your inability to add a and b is more a reflection of your own failings to accept that some of us do have a little bit more going on than shuffling words on here.
You clearly don't.
