Getting the facts correct is important, so why you think she should have won Wimbledon is, as I said, somewhat illogical.
I know. I lived through that time.
I didn't say she should have won. I didn't even say she could have won, just that a competetive person will always be ruminating on missed opportunities. Are you just being argumentative?

Oh and earned you think of her in the same breath as a care worker "earning her money"
Emma is a prime target for Keirs unicorn tax.
Debating the subject of which occupation is of more importance is another subject altogether, not all her earnings will be earned in the UK, my objections will start when income earned in the UK is squirreled off to offshore accounts.
Based on income she is obviously going to pay more tax, quite normal, that doesn’t somehow mean she should be or is being penalised.
She will earn a lot of money from her talent and endeavour, she is not capitalising on the less fortunate, taking advantage of someone’s hardship, not simply using money as a source of power and more income, without actually doing anything.

No, merely putting the record straight. Remember the last time Emma appeared at Wimbledon before this year was two years ago when she was 16 (a junior player) - last year's Wimbledon tournament was cancelled at least two months before its usual July dates, along with many others here and abroad.
In fact this year's Wimbledon was the first time the vast majority had even heard of her....

You raise a good point?
She has just won $2.5m in the US, where/how does she pay tax on it. I assume she will form a company in her name so all winnings will go through said company, but where does she base this company?

Apart from any tax liabilities, Emma will have to meet the costs of her coach and support team, plus travel, accommodation etc out of her winnings which, until Wimbledon a few weeks ago, were very modest.
In fact the backing of the LTA and the Amazon financial support for young future tennis stars will have proved a vital part of her progress.

Angela Rayner will be able to pursue her "broad shoulders" to pay for social care.
It is hilarious the squirming of the lefty ones when it's bought home to them who exactly they are holding liable to pay for everything.
They don't want to hear it.
The reality is not all millionaires are as they portray.

Emma doesn't have a choice. All tennis players are liable to pay income taxes in the country where the income was earned. In Emma's case, 30% of her winnings will be deducted at source, plus any NY State income taxes that may apply.
As the UK taxes its residents on income earned abroad, she would also be liable to pay taxes in the UK. Fortunately the UK-US tax treaty prevents double taxation. She will declare the income, and offset it with US taxes paid. If the offset US taxes are less than the taxes that would have been paid in the UK, she will pay UK taxes on the balance.

Emma is a prime target for Keirs unicorn tax.
Why would she pay tax on her US Open winnings here?
Why are you assuming the girl will be a tax avoider / evader?
Desperately crowbarring a criticism of a party that currently has nothing to do with tax payments, in a thread that is nothing to do with politics, but was started in support a rising star in tennis? Over a situation that hasn't actually happened? And forcing in a mention of a now irrelevant politician that isn't even in a party?
What's wrong with you?
Letting random people, who don't happen to share your political point of view, live in your head rent free to the point of forcing irrelevant sneering in random threads? Do you think you've scored points in a non-existent contest?
That's more mental illness than a political viewpoint. OCD at the very least. Seriously, step away from politics for a while. If it is getting you to the stage of contriving a series of posts to mention 'leftys', tax, Jeremy Corbyn and care workers on a thread about congratulating a tennis player, it's more than a straw man, it's obsession.
Take care of your mental health.

It's a shame that a young woman's extraordinary talent, and the pure joy you can see that she gets from the game, is sullied by the introduction of financial gain and speculation on future tax avoidance. Watching her play was incredible. And her smile lit up Arthure Ashe Stadium like I've never seen before. She's unspoiled by it all, let Emma and her audience enjoy the moment.

Oh I was simply putting a face on the "millionaires" so often targeted by the lefty losers hypocrites to pay for everything they don't want to.
The lefty losers try to convince us all of these nasty rich Landlord types they can target painlessly, the reality is Emma, well done girl.
Seems I hit a nerve, from now now on I shall think of it as Emma taxes.

That's the point, you aren't hitting any nerves. You're just rambling about some imagined left wing politics on a thread about a young girl winning a major tennis tournament.
Your opening comment was 'be great to see and hear how the lefty media deals with...' That was your first thought? Really?
Then suggesting she might avoid tax with '...resting in accounts around the world'?
And when it was apparent that those were falling on stony ground, random unnamed people were 'hypocrites'? Because nobody, but nobody assumed this girl would avoid tax? Or even cared, mentioned, or gave a second thought to tax on a thread congratulating a tennis player?
You went from 'lefty', Corbyn, Starmer, Starmer's 'tax' that doesn't exist, Angela Rayner, social care. Now 'landlords'? 'Emma taxes'? On a tennis thread. You think that's healthy?
You've now associated a young girl with tax in your head? That's 'putting a face' on millionaires?
You think some random selection of people, who you don't know, who don't happen to agree with you on the subject of politics, don't actually know what any millionaires look like? Now Emma Raducanu has become the 'face of tax' for you?
Take a break. This is pitiful. If this carries on you'll just be screeching nothing but 'LEFTY!!!' on every thread. Utterly nonsensical rambling about some perceived enemy. That's paranoia.
Seriously, do some breathing exercises. Read a book. Do a crossword. Mindfulness might help. My goodness, you really are in a dark, unhealthy place. It's worrying.

I think you'll find that most lefty losers, and a fair few right wingers as well, object to millionaires shifting their wealth to offshore tax havens. That's not quite the same as wanting them to pay higher taxes. It's wanting them to pay taxes in the country that they were earned.
Your initial comment suggests that Emma would soon be joining their ranks, which, when it comes to her earnings from tennis, she clearly cannot do... ever.
She will pay a 30% flat rate of federal income tax in the US ($360,000). NY State has a progressive tax system, she will pay an average 7% state income tax rate ($84,000) Had she earned $1,200,000 in the UK, which also has a progressive tax system, she would have had to pay an average 44% tax rate ($528,000) As the total US taxes paid will be $84,000 less than they would have been if taxed in the UK, Emma will be liable to pay $84,000 tax in the UK. After income taxes, but before any other statutory deductions that you may have, she will net $672,000. Not so much a millionaire now, eh?
Like Prof. Said, you go on far too many fishing expeditions.

There's fishing, and there's desperation for any kind of response so he can go through his list of usual, repetitive insults.
I know threads veer off into all sorts of side roads and subjects, and I know a couple of posters will try anything to scream 'whatabout Labour' (just as I rarely miss an opportunity to have a pop at the government), but trying to shoehorn a sneer at the left on this thread is just tragic.
There are plenty of threads for that. This should just be 'well done Emma' or 'all the best for the future', in my humble opinion.

Divisive Mayor Sadiq Khan, a specialist in sowing division online, immediately headed to his poisoned keyboard to politicise what should have been a unifying moment for the UK.
