All he was really trying to do was to help. He KNEW those people didn't really mean to vote Biden, and it was kind to try to correct that.

What's interesting ,and perhaps worrying, is that many of the educated foreigners I know see Trump as just what the world sadly needs. Will history repeat itself?

Biden's 2024 Presidential campaign is all over the place as is his Presidency. The U.S. Democratic party is the second choice (for its for a wide range of political 'tribes' at either end of a spectrum). It is essentially oriented to big donors' prevailing sentiment and only rarely manages to pull-together a winning combination!

He is starting his campaign and is already pretty much level with Trump in the polls.

As to the Democrats, yes there are "wings" but they are nowhere near as divided as the GOP.

President Biden's Administration's economic policies did stave off recession and both employment levels and wages improved. However, there's always splash back when economic policy pi$$es money around.

Level-pegging (if he is) with Donald Trump is damning! Biden manages to alienate prospective Democratic party voters. His many missteps are costing him and the U.S. election mechanisms favour minority rule when, as now the opposition is focused!

Sat here in Britain, we see two elderly blokes going for probably the top in the democratic world, yet we also see that one is a scurrilous, self serving scum bag, whose only hope for salvation from a raft of criminal charges is to regain the Presidency, Biden may be elderly but has done and achieved more than Trump did.

In truth Trump has displayed just about every bad character aspect you can think of, yet still carries a lot of support, our political and judicial system is far from perfect but any politician behaving and acting as Trump has and continues to act, would be dead in the water if not already in jail.

This election is important to us and indeed all of Europe, but of course we have zero influence on the result.

As a side, in Britain the only “politicians” publicly lauding Trump are the likes of Farage and Truss, that is more than enough to be the kiss of death in Britain.

I think there's a good chance it will. I wouldn't have said so 4 years ago, but there's a feeling that Americans aren't seeing the positives about Biden's tenure, rather the tabloid slips and trips.

What happens in the US doesn't particularly affect us directly, we carry on as we did with Trump and Biden. Indirectly, sure. America sneezes and all that. But I do consider the international ramifications of another Tangerine term.

Trump surrounds himself with 'hawks'. He admires dictators. He seems to adore Putin. He's extremely pro-Israel - which in itself isn't a problem, US and Israel have always been allies - but it doesn't bode well for the current conflict in the Middle East. I can see him going after Iran.

He isn't a serious politician, despite his presidency. He's a crook, an egomaniac, he's dysfunctional with a dysfunctional family (although pot, kettle with Biden there), a sex offender. But just as he admires the worst type of man, I think a certain part of their electorate sees him as 'strong'.

Whatever shaky balance exists internationally would be thrown off kilter by another 4 years of Trump, I reckon.
