Aggravated Trespass needs some type of force / deed to gain entrance, she / they just walked in, just trespass, civil law, just like travellers you can't do anything to force them out you have to use legal proceedures. He assaulted her.

Wrong -
Offence of aggravated trespass.
(1)A person commits the offence of aggravated trespass if he trespasses on land and, in relation to any lawful activity which persons are engaging in or are about to engage in on that or adjoining land, does there anything which is intended by him to have the effect—
(a)of intimidating those persons or any of them so as to deter them or any of them from engaging in that activity,
(b)of obstructing that activity, or
(c)of disrupting that activity.

I have little doubt since the media storm that so fleetingly erupted over this event many more people will be looking to storm similar occasions.
The short thinkers will look to defend them and so the merry go round will spin until one of the protesters will get seriously hurt or killed.
Their unassailable belief that we need to do what they want or they will resort to escalating disruption is very much part of the me me movement.
If they sincerely believe in their cause get themselves out of their comfort zone and go to the fetid hell holes across the globe that are actually choking us.
Bothering people at a posh dinner in London is not exactly hard core is it ?

Although they apparently didn't achieve their main objective which I believe was to deliver an "alternative speech" to the one delivered by the chancellor, one thing they have achieved is the publicity as a result of the coverage in the mainstream media.
Do you think we'd be having this conversation if they'd just gone to "the hell holes across the globe" you mention? I suspect not.
These sort of protests are nothing new... it's just that this one got a lot of publicity for a number of reasons.

I stand corrected, it was still an assault as Field was not trespassed against.

Wrong on that as well I'm afraid;
Assault requires no contact
assault can also be committed by words alone in R v Ireland [1997] 4 All ER 225, and the Court of Appeal in R v Constanza [1997] Crim LR 576.
He only had to feel threatened and in our new nasty world of politics where "direct action " is seen as positive note the milk shake throwers who think its acceptable to assault someone.
She and her fellow protesters need to be dealt with harshly by the courts to nip this in the bud.

Just think some of these clowns will unfortunately be summoned for Jury Service.

True, I wouldn't want to be in the box if Mark Field was in the jury

You obviously didn't get who I was talking about ! I have done Jury Service 44 years ago and no one had to explain anything. Two cases in the week and both lots were found guilty One was robbery the other a couple of hero brothers who attacked a lone man and ended up on the wrong end of a good hiding. The only down side was a Police Constable didn't see the original attack by two renowned scum bags on the lone man with impeccable character he only saw the retribution hence the man ending up in Court charged with assault. He was found guilty with direction from the Judge to do so but he was released without a stain on his name and the two assailants given a very stern warning about their future conduct. Simples.
I was talking about the increasing number of people, who think the woman was wrongly manhandled, being so naïve making judgement on anyone.

However that little scene is viewed LL the force used was excessive and so fails the test of proportionality.
In the past I've worked within the Criminal Justice system and, seen many incidents of people who've just 'snapped' then let their frustrations get the better of them.
Those particular individuals might well have been very annoying but, hey ho, I bet they livened up a particularly dry speech.

Well I think you must know how good the criminal justice system is at vilifying the innocent in favour of the guilty, such as Field even though the perpetrator is not pressing charges after her uninvited incursion.

Field was only a guest, he wasn't to know that the alleged protestor hadn't been grant permission to teither observe or even give a short speech.
