Probably 80-90% of Americans would vote for Donald Duck if it was wearing the correct coloured rosette, this country is no different.

Dont you think that, the underlying plan is to work towards the appointment of Biden's vice- president nominee as President, in the not too distant future. So far she seems far more impressive and capable than the alternatives.
Just be yourself, no one else is better qualified!!

So we have had some diversions, semantic exercises, and context side orders but still no evidence of incitement.
We have even resorted to "addressing an armed crowd" to engender incitement, the rather obvious fact that they didn't charge in guns blazing I suppose needs to be conveniently forgotten.
They were primarily "armed" with Samsungs and Apples
You have been conned, the reality is the Democrats just want to get the necessary majority to stop Trump from standing again, which I don't blame them he did get a lot of votes.
As usual, I am accused of being a Trump fan but anyone who has followed my posts over the years about him knows full well if you get on to the reality of what he has done as President I can get a long list of things he has miserably failed over.
Big issues such as gun control........ abject failure.
Health, some useful things but overall dreadful.
Equality.... laughable.
We know he has a dreadful personality and the cohesive style of a rusty axe which is why I christened him from day one as the vomit inducer.
If you think that's a term of endearment I think the orange mist has well and truly overtaken you.

You continue with your attempts to excuse and minimise the Trump effect, but you are ploughing an increasingly lonely furrow.
It is now looking that the whole thing was more organised than you seem to think, a number of Republican politicians are now under investigation suspected of aiding the invaders, there is now video out which shows that many knew exactly where to go, one video/audio found which shows someone actually directing and instructing the militants, how much Trump was directly involved in that, is not currently known, but there is no doubt that the mob believed they were supporting Trump’s attempted coup.
This investigation does not come from other politicians of either stripe, but from various security forces.

Over the past twelve months you, local, have excused President Trump's behaviour repeatedly. You claim you are only being objective in the face of Trump's detractors whom you suggest are seeing him through an "orange mist ".
As for legislative ambitions and accomplishments throughout Trump's Presidency, you cite for instance:- "issues such as gun control" noting his failure when in fact, Trump has exploited the issue with divisive effect.
- Health, ignoring or discounting his attacks on Obama's Affordable Care Act stripping millions of US residents of affordable health insurance and never producing the superior alternative he'd promised.
- You have echoed Trump's deplorable attacks on every gesture for racial "Equality" and you've discounted the disparity between BLM protest policing versus anti-Semitic and racist (white) protesters.
Yet you imagine labelling Trump "the emetic one" ought to be regarded as a fig leaf sparing your tiny-minded opinions from examination and challenge!

Let's be frank these are the words of people who have been had,
the Rhetoric of the gullible caught up in the orange mist.
He is going, get over it, his term never lived up to the febrile hyperbole of the orange monster portrayed he was mostly neutered by the American Political system.
We were told of world wars and American Invasions in fact the opposite.
The Democrats are seeking to sterilise him via the impeachment process and may just do it.
Fine but what next, he had an awful lot of votes and if he had been a better operator or liar even, a whole lot more.
Anyone thinking geriatric Joe is their saviour is delusional.
Kamala may be she hasn't shone yet but maybe her time will come.

There's a common theme in many of your posts, exemplified by your first sentence here.... that you know more than others. Yet you are only stating your opinion not facts. Clearly you watched a different rally speech from Trump and a different riot at the Capitol than other posters did. I suspect that makes you feel special.
You say...He is going, get over it which eerily mimics the Trumpist cries of He won, get over it. As if that excuses all the terrible thing he has done to America and world relations. The fact that worse hasn't happened is not down to Trump but those around him who 'managed' him to some extent. He may have had the most number of votes for any President but it wasn't enough. Why the US is allowing the loser and his followers to set the agenda is a mystery to me. They did that after the Civil war and look where that got them. Biden, for all the sleepiness you think you observe, got more votes and has more support in the country than Trump. Those supporters, and they weren't all Democrats, deserve to be able to celebrate their win and have an inaugral ceremony free from fear. Trump has managed to spoil it all (no doubt a tick on his list of things to do before leaving). The crazies who stormed te capitol and plan further events are in no doubt as to who told them to do it. That should make for interesting evidence in the Senate trial, assuming it goes ahead. I hope it does...natural justice demands accountability.

The only ones who’ve been had are those who slavishly followed him, supporting the elements within the US who favour force above negotiation, the white supremacists, the anti semites, all those who feel their problems are someone else’s fault, all those who believed that Trump was somehow an anti establishment figure, who would clear all the injustices, in truth he is the establishment, the friend of corporate America at the expense of the majority, remember who got the big tax cuts and who paid the price.

I get it your feeling a bit stupid, don't take it out on me.
I know he's going next week and the impeachment isn't about getting rid of him its to stop him coming back.
Trump beat himself.

Some of the insurgents had a guided tour of the building the day before, hosted by Republican Senators.

That is the accusation, if proved correct, then some Republicans will be on their way and possibly facing serious charges.

In fact, the impeachment is a small step towards deterring future, more polished demagogic characters for whom Trump's unprecedented breaches of law and protocols serve as a pathway to comprehensively destroying even the semblance of democratic legitimacy.
The US Republican party's complicity in President Trump's misdemeanours poses a dilemma for them. On one side, Republicans could carry forward the anti-democratic measures Trump utilized and which in many instances preceded Trump. On the other, Republican party members who genuinely treasure America's democracy (flawed as it is) will want to disown President Trump.
Trump demonstrated that it is not necessary to abrogate the veneer of democracy; it can be distorted sufficiently to enable anti-democratic rule. It is not at all clear that the Legislative Branch of the US Government has the collective will to prevent future abuses such as those President Trump used with considerable effect.
