Parish and borough councillors in Scarisbrick are keeping a watching brief on developments at the massive new mushroom farm in the village.
Work is now taking place to prepare for the installation of an autoclave which will be used for the growing and cultivation of specialist Shitake mushrooms by Smithy mushrooms.
There have been concerns about whether contractors have, ahem, mush-room to manouevre at the site entrance with inadequate splay lanes on Heatons Bridge Road; there have been rumours than an amended planning application may be submitted re the access to the controversial development.
