Anyone unable to get out to pick up their medicines due to the current Government advice on coronavirus can ask a trusted family member, friend or neighbour to collect them instead.
Or, if the service is available, you can ask the pharmacy to deliver to you directly.
People who have neither of these options and who have a prescription ready for collection, and who are shielding or self-isolating should contact Sefton Council’s helpline for support – 0345 140 0845.
More information about local pharmacies is available from the NHS website.
Local GP surgeries will be operating regular weekday opening hours on Good Friday (10 April) and Easter Monday (13 April). People are advised to contact your local chemist directly for its exact hours of business on all of these days.
However, due to Covid-19, GP practices have made some changes to the usual way that people access their services. This means phoning your practice or contacting them online to get advice, rather than visiting the surgery in person.
NHS Southport and Formby CCG has said its pharmacies will be open between 2pm and 5pm on both Good Friday and Easter Monday and some will be open on Easter Sunday.
A list of pharmacies open on Easter Sunday plus more information on how to access local services and how they they are being delivered is available from:
Anyone needing urgent medical help you can call 111 or visit www.111.nhs.uk, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The service is experiencing a huge demand during this time, so people’s patience is appreciated.
People with symptoms of coronavirus (a high temperature or a new, continuous cough), use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service at www.111.nhs.uk/covid-19

Nice theory.. but in practice not so good.
Our disabled son lives with my wife and myself. All three of us are vulnerable.
Between us we have at least one prescription to be filled each week. I,alone, require 13 different medications. We are self isolating.
Our chemist does not deliver medications.
We have no family locally to collect them for us.
I left messages with the Ainsdale volunteers but no response.
I have been in touch with the Sefton Council team mentioned in the article, but they cannot help.
So it is all down to wearing a home made mask when I collect medication and hoping for the best.

Contact Woolleys Pharmacy ;
Address: 84 Bispham Rd, Southport PR9 7DF..Phone: 01704 777814
As they do online deliveries,as long as the person is EXEMPT from paying for their medicines,as they contact their doctor,or wherever they get your prescriptions from, and will then deliver them to your door, with no need for you,or a patient going out having to re-order anything, you give them your details, and they will do the contacting of the surgery / doctor for you......No need to go to a doctors surgery, then waiting another 2-3 days while the prescription is written out,and then someone have to go and pick it up,and a trip to a pharmacy to get it made....We have used Woolleys for months now,for my wife,or my repeat orders, they are highly recommended.
