150,000 Sefton council full of bull#### as always. i'm surprised at 30,000 there were no traffic hold ups on the Tarleton bypass as there have been in previous years. The organisers need to look at what other events have and bring them to Southport and not the same displays over and over again, you can only watch a repeat so many times.

So why would anyone buy a ticket if they were letting people into the event site free of charge?
And there are surely safety issues if they don't know how many people were in the event site?

Did they say they didn't know how many where in the event?
Or just give a figure of those that had paid.

Was the 150k a Sefton figure though? I saw it in the Visiter but the piece I saw didn't say where the number had come from. Given the recent Sefton report on tourism spoke of the airshow and fireworks bringing in over 100k people combined in 2016 I'd be surprised.

Maybe someone did an estimate of the total number of visitors to Southport over the Fri-Sun of airshow or the like, given lots of folks don't pay but watch outside?

Wherever it came from, nice going by Qlocal to find out the number of paying customers.

    Yes I've quoted it.

No, you quoted that the number given didn't include those outside the barriers or those that hadn't paid. That doesn't mean they didn't have those figures, Just that the figure given was of people who had paid.

Another case of plucking figures out of the sky, just like the figure when JC was on the beach trying to turn the tide back against the tories..:)

Oh dear, who really cares what the numbers were, but one absolute fact, the entire Tory cabinet could have turned up and wouldn't have attracted one tenth of the attendance for Corbyn, but would probably have needed more stewards to keep attendees from asking awkward questions.

    Yippy.
Corbyn isn't the savour of the labour party, He'll destroy it with promises he can't keep, and ideals that are unrealistic.

True but I suspect roving-eye's request was for the total attendance.

If he simply asked for the number of the number of paid attendees then the response would not have made any reference to people who entered the event site free or those who watch from beyond.

The fact the response has referred to those but not given the numbers suggests they don't know the numbers. Whilst I wouldn't expect there to be accurate numbers for those watching outside the site questions need to be asked as to why people were allowed into the site free of charge and why they weren't being counted.

Allowing people into the event site free is depriving the council of income, possibly leading to a loss on the event to be met by taxpayers, gives a green light to everyone to try and get in free next year and raises the issue of safety and security at an event site that presumably has a safe maximum capacity of spectators.

You could always ask Jeremy about our Nuclear deterrent or Brexit how he sort of campaigned to remain but really wanted out as EU membership means he couldn't carry out his wish to renationalise.
How he conned the students into thinking he was wiping out their debt.
A conman attracting the gullible and non-contributors who think they are getting more of someone else's taxes isn't much to get anyone sensible excited.

May wouldn't pack a phone box because she is about as exciting as a dose of penicillin to a sick person.

Blackpool estimate a record 100,000 people at their Air Show this year, with spectators saying that they had never seen such crowds on the Promenade. The Blackpool Air show was over two days and had the Red Arrows appear on both days.

Please remember the council will tell the figures they think are correct. The council should be asked how they came up with the figures. Like everything which is wrong with this country we see daily statistics that are not questioned. We take everything this Government and NGO's say as fact.

Has there ever been a popular person elected in as Prime Minister, or as a Leader in Parliament, MP's, councillors or council administrators? The general public are only given a limited choice of proposed leaders - candidates who become so by cronyism. Such people only become popular when the economy favours the general public i.e. when people get something out of aligning themselves with any particular body.
Until public servants can earn the respect of the general public by being more intelligent, more knowledgeable on home and world politics, be a people's person, prove that they actually care about the people and the environment rather than care more for their own personal gratification, and who are more effective in leadership qualities - there is not one who will ever be respected, truth be told.
