Southport Pier Pavillion reported:

Just to stop all of the rumours circulating, unfortunately a person jumped off the end of the pier this afternoon. He has been airlifted to hospital. The pier remains open and we wish him well in his recovery.

Reported that there was a helicopter and all emergency service present around 17:30pm.
