A Motorhome that has been parked on Manchester Road has finally been clamped by the DVLA today. The Motorhome is falling to bits and has not moved in months.

Another vehicle was also clamped but the owner has removed the clamp and left it by the side of the road.

The brain box who removed the clamp in the 2nd picture will now have escalated his misdemeanours to one of criminal damage, as well as the original fine.

Finally, I’ve been reporting this eyesore to both the Police and the Council for months.
It’s neither taxed, insured or MOT’d, and hasn’t been for months. It would have been better if the Council had done its job, and removed it to the scrap yard.

I see your point, but to leave it for MONTHS?? If people cannot afford to keep a vehicle legally, then they would not be able to afford to run it and should sell it or get it taken away.

Another reason for old camper vans on the roadside is that they are used by people whose friends live in a house nearby but do not have the room to put them up, it is a way of saving on paying out rent.

I saw that clamp on the footpath - it had been sawn off.

I guess if it was dump outside your house you may have a different opinion on the matter. Untaxed, uninsured and rusting away.

If it wasn't being used it should have been SORN and put on private property. Or maybe we should just have a free for all.

Nothing to do with the Council, you might as well reported it to the RSPCA or the Samaritans.

Well, you’d better let the Council know, because when I spoke to them on Monday they told me it is their responsibility, and it was the Council who reported to the DVLA.

If the Council reported it to the DVLA it obviously isn't their responsibility.

I’m not going to argue with you, as you appear to know best, BUT, it is the Council’s Cleansing Department responsibility to move it, and that is from the Council.

I'm sure you would have had a different attitude if it had been dumped outside your house.
