An accident that could have ended a lot worse.
At 3pm yesterday residents heard a loud smash, when they saw what happened they were shocked to see it was involving a police car.
Thankfully, no person was hurt and airbags deployed.
This has now opened many questions. Do police cars travel too fast in the local area?
This is the second emergency Vehicle write off in seven days.
A resident stated. “A police car narrowly missed us the other day, overtaking a car on the bend coming off the roundabout by Waterloo Road onto Liverpool Road. Whilst I appreciate the work they do, and that they need to attend calls as quickly as possibly, it was dangerous and unnecessary.”
Another resident said: “We drove past that last night, saw the remnants of it, how on earth did they manage to do it? Where they're coming down Waterloo Road or driving way too fast down hillside road.”
Next time it could be a resident or even worse a child, thankfully no person was hurt this time.

A Police car travelling down Lord Street the other day was most certainly travelling too fast for safety in such a busy street.
