When was the last time you visited the British seaside? Research shows that over 50% of adults haven’t been near the coast in the last year! And with the North West’s beaches and the seas at their cleanest in 20 years there’s no reason not to!
That’s why, this May Bank Holiday weekend, the LOVEmyBEACH campaign is calling for residents and visitors to get their feet wet and head to the coast!
A trip to the seaside is a good value for money day out which appeals to all generations. In Sefton there are a number of recommended beaches which are all safe to enjoy. These include, Ainsdale, Crosby, Formby & Southport.
You can find out more about these beaches including facilities, upcoming events and how to help keep the beaches clean at www.lovemybeach.org
Whether you chose to walk the dog, build a sandcastle or go for a paddle please share your photos and ‘foosies’ (the selfie for your feet!) using the hashtag #getyourfeetwet.
You may comment here but news always gets more discussion at our facebook.com/groups/southportnews

It looked fine yesterday, but that's a 2 year old photo and who goes to any beach when it's been pouring down anyway. Typical of Qlocal to dig out the worst photo possible.
