Detectives have released a CCTV image of a man they'd like to speak to following an incident in Southport in which a shop owner & his wife were racially abused.
The incident is reported to have happened on 19th April at around 10.30pm when the man & woman suffered verbal abuse by another man as he walked past their shop in London Street, Southport Town Centre.
The victims were not physically injured during the attack, however were left very upset by the comments made.
Officers would like to speak to the man pictured as they believe he may be able to help them with their enquiries.
Detective Inspector Susan Stribling said: "This was a completely unprovoked verbal attack on a man and woman, who were simply going about their daily business. Racism & any other type of hate crime will not be tolerated in Merseyside & we will do everything we can to bring the offender to justice.”

I would agree that people should be allowed to go about their business unhindered - but the photograph shown appears to show a mentally disabled person for which there would surely be exceptions.

And if he’d murdered someone? An exception for that too? Don’t think so.
