A man who was refused alcohol allegedly assaulted a staff member in Tesco on Liverpool Road yesterday. He then started to kick the door and swear at waiting shoppers.

Police turned up and arrested him.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We were called to the Tesco store on Liverpool Road in Birkdale at just after 10.50am Tuesday following reports a male member of staff had been assaulted.
"We arrested a 44 year-old man from the Southport area on suspicion of s39 assault.
"He is currently in custody where he will be questioned by officers."

Somebody should have said to him "excuse me. That is not how we behave in my country." By his own admission he is an immigrant. Its not his fault. Hes been dragged up with different values i suspect.

He is English actually,and,would you believe it.......he is a care worker......but not for much longer I would'nt think,once the owners get to hear about this from the news etc.

Then why did he claim to be Glaswegan ?

Sorry I should have said British,as a Glaswegian is NOT an immigrant,as greenmachine has put it,as Scotland is part of the British Isles...Also uses a Southport minicab firm regularly to get to work,hence knowing that his job is that of being a care worker.

He picked on the wrong person at the end, he was lucky the police came when they did it saved calling an ambulance. If you are going to be a bully there is one rule .. some you pick on some you don’t . Well done to our local finest and the police came really quick.
